My name is Les and I was born and raised a farm boy in the Panhandle of Texas. Having lived in several different places east of the Mississippi, I moved to Braintree in 1988 to marry my beautiful and witty wife who was and continues to be a Braintree native. God has blessed me with two sons and a daughter as well as a grandson and 2 granddaughters. I am retired after 30 years of federal government service with GAO. My association with First Baptist began in the early 1990’s and has continued to the present time. I became a Christian at the young age of 16. My church service includes serving as the treasurer, a deacon, a small group Bible study leader/member, a member/leader of various ministry teams (men’s ministry, worship, Christian education, food pantry, ESL, etc.), and an elder. My education includes two bachelor’s degrees (one in religious studies/languages and one in accounting) and a master’s degree (theology).
I have been a Christian for over 50 years and a member of 1st. Baptist for the last 45.
I grew up in Quincy and have lived in Braintree since my marriage to Laurel in 1968. We have 4 married children and 11 grandchildren.
I spent over 4o years providing computer science training to international audiences. I was employed by several computer and software companies during my career. I am now retired and have developed a passion for Christian missions, particularly in Haiti where I have made several visits since the earthquake. I am currently the Missions Deacon at 1st. Baptist.
Glenn has been with First Baptist Church since 1992 serving, early on as Youth Pastor and currently as Worship Pastor.
He learned to play guitar from his Youth Pastor in high school and developed a passion for authentic worship serving at various youth camps for the past three decades.
About leading worship on Sunday mornings, Glenn says, “It never gets old! I look forward to it every time” and “… if someday nobody showed up, I’d still be doing this because God is worthy of all honor and glory and praise!”

Deacon of Children’s Ministries
I have been a member at First Baptist Church since 1983 and the Deacon of Children’s ministry since 2005. As a child I have so many wonderful memories of growing up in First Baptist Church and those warm memories stayed with me through adulthood. It is because of the wonderful experiences I had growing up that I knew I wanted to continue Gods work working with children. I have a masters degree in Elementary Education and a bachelors degree in Education as well as Psychology. I was an elementary public school teacher for many years until God called me to be a full time stay at home mom and use my teaching gifts building our family. I have been blessed with the opportunity to continue my love of teaching in the church through Sunday school, Fun with Faith after school club Kids Adventure Week and the Annual Christmas play. I am a happily married, mother of three and now teach Pre-K at a local preschool.
